Tesco’s biggest ever price cutting campaign, the ‘Big Price Drop’, with claims of annual savings worth £500million was launched dropping the prices of 3,000 different items.
The ‘Big Price Drop’ campaign was a huge campaign for Tesco that certainly needed to gain attention; one way of doing this is through social media. We worked with Tag Worldwide to create the front end of their Facebook page. The challenge here was to create something attractive that users would resonate with, and that it’s the first thing they see when they access this page therefore it needs to have an impact. It needed to be easy to read but it also require informative text, so it was important to contain only essential information.
It was important to keep the colour theme using Tesco's trademark colours. Adhering to this, we kept a consistent theme throughout, that was both relatable and easy to read. The challenge of keeping only information we needed to put in was achieved with great success by implementing links to adverts and ‘Snap a drop’ entry forms condensed text to simpler formats.
Technology: FB Apps developer, HTML integration with CodeIgniter PHP framework, CSS3, CSS @fonts, PS, JQ, JS, custom browse and checkbox inputs, custom metatags for their like button and Valumns Ajax uploader. This custom FB page is mostly text based and SEO friendly.
