Digital transformation at the HRMC is aiming to make the taxes digital. Mars Spiders assisted with the User Research and Interaction Design implementation. Mars Spiders provide online services for Agents who manage other people's tax on their behalf. Tax agent previously dependent on the telephone support now welcome the new digital services.
As an urgent requirement with a limited Discovery phase, we have worked on Alpha delivery of a Proof of Concept turned MVP. Security concerns played an important role in the process.
We enabled Agents by providing access to services they cannot access elsewhere. How? It is HMRC's strategy that an Agent should be able to perform all of the tax-related tasks of a taxpayer. To do this HMRC system have to check if an Agent is authorised to act on behalf of a Client (the taxpayer). Mars Spiders' expertise of Interaction Design shaped the product development roadmap. We have aligned our work priorities (epics) to the roadmap and place commitments to 'customers' at the very heart of our business strategy.
Underpinned by a solid user research Mars Spiders work tirelessly inside HMRC scrum agile team closely collaborating with the User Researchers and the Content Designers to deliver a world-class product. A truly user-friendly product provided the perfect solution for the HMRC and for the Agents.
